Using innovative floating foundations and frost protected shallow footing (FPSF) systems, we at Floating Additions were able to preserve the structure and heritage of this home in Ancaster, Ontario. Not only did this technique of construction save the client tens of thousands of dollars, but it also helped divert substantial waste from landfill sites. This approach to building design, coupled with resources from Habitat for Humanity, allow us to preserve buildings that have heritage character and give a new lease of life to locally retrieved building materials.
